Ninnie Nines

Are you ready for our 9-patch swap? The first round of the swap will take place at the May meeting. Each participant is asked to bring sixteen (16) 6.5" blocks. We ask that you use medium to dark fabrics, prints or solids, only two different fabrics per block.

If you'd like to quickly make 16 identical blocks, follow the strip piecing tutorial at twiddletails (click here). Cut (5) 2.5" strips of one fabric and (4) strips of the second fabric.

If you'd rather go scrappy and use 2.5" strips from your Bonnie Hunter Scrap User's System, follow Bonnie's instructions (click here) for 9-patch blocks included in her Sister's Choice tutorial.

Of course, you may choose to cut individual 2.5" squares and lay them out on your cute little design board. (Click here to see how to make your own!)

When your blocks are done, please add your name to each block with an address label or piece of tape. Place the blocks in an envelope or baggie with your name on it. Now you are ready to swap!

Participate in one round or all three!
Round 1: May 14
Round 2: June 11
Round 3: July 9

For ideas on how to set your blocks, visit Tina's Pinterest board here. How many quilts can we finish for the show in October? Is that a challenge? Yes!

(Sorry, this swap is only open to members of Ninigret Quilters.)
