February 2018

In February we celebrated by learning about 3 different organizations in which we can use our excess fabric:  Dress A Girl Around the World, Days for Girls and Quilts Beyond Borders and about a project organized about one of our younger members.
Ashley shared information about her Girl Scout project making kennel mats.
One of our youngest members, Ashley, shared her focus on creating mini kennel quilts in her pursuit of a silver award for Girl Scouts.

Dress a Girl Around the World
Lois Gardner, a long-term member of the guild shared how her church has adopted the three worldwide causes and will be making items once per month. Lois said all are welcome to join her in the creation of these items or can donate fabric and trims.

Some of our outreach quilts, many of which go to Habitat for Humanity were shared.

We received a certificate for the many quilts made for Habitat for Humanity

After learning about these wonderful outreach options, members purchased fabric that had been donated, we had a Valentine's gift swap and then ended the evening with a fabulous show and tell.
