December Holiday Meeting

Show and Tell at our Holiday Meeting

Norrene laughs as she shows her hydrangea piece.  We have fun laughing!

Molly O's grandson is going to adore this quilt of trucks and tractors!

Sheila has made a wintery table runner for her family in Alaska.

Sheila shared a quilt she made for her new grandson.
Nice use of birch tree fabric, and other plaid and camouflage fabric.

Blair worked with 1930s fabrics and made this soft, precious qu
ilt.

Blair shared this quilt  she made. The special effects created with lighter fabrics in the center and darker florals around the outside makes this an interesting piece.

Tina C. used one of each of our year's Blocks of the Month in this quilt.
Twelve months, twelve blocks.
A beautiful ending to a fun year of making monthly blocks.

Tina C.  had fun creating Christmas placemats to decorate for a family gathering at the beach.
The blocks in this quilt were made by Ellen, who gave them to Tina. Tina then made them into a Quilt of Valor.

Blair shared this " Bats and Boos" quilt  which was a mystery quilt. It is so clever!

Barb told us her son likes M.C. Escher's art so she made him a quilt based on the artist's work of tessellations.  Didn't she do a spectacular job?

Here is the print Barb used as reference to create the quilt above for her son.

Tara always finishes so many pieces! Here is a tree quilt ready to use this holiday season!

Tara created these for a fundraiser.  These pieces will be beautiful in anyone's home!
Betsy A won our blocks of the month using the " Friend Ships" block. Here are the blocks put together in this fun and bright quilt.

It is fun to see the colors and fabrics members used for their blocks.
Sky fabric, water fabric, and even night skies.

Here are February's Blocks of the Month won by Betsy A!
She put them all together to create this quilt!

Pat H used this design for her backing

And here is the front of Pat H's modern quilt.

Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon....
these hot air balloons are by Molly O

Donna C's quilt of Vermont - here is the back...

                       Here is the front!

We smiled at this wonderful quilt....because...somehow...we know....
thanks Margaret for the smiles!

Jackie's leaves look beautiful in a nice variety of colors against a neutral background.

An Outreach fabric with tropical, vibrant colors will certainly make come one local happy.

Here is the backing used for the quilt above.

An Outreach Quilt made using Blooming Nine Patch pattern.  We met one Saturday for an Open Sew and this was an optional choice:  to work on this pattern.

A fun quilt with piano key borders and fireflies created by Outreach.

Blocks of the Month, won by Jackie B and combined to make this quilt for Outreach!
So beautiful!

We got to play Quilt-O for fabric prizes!

Betsey W and I decided we make quilt patterns even in our appetizers! What do you think of the snowball blocks and the grape border and the striped binding?

At our holiday meeting, members set up placemats and centerpieces to create a festive party atmosphere.
Handmade items were donated for our Silent Auction. There were quilted items, homemade jams, scones, and so many wonderful things!

Bidding took place throughout the meeting.
We had fun looking and chatting and deciding what we wanted to bid on.

A wonderful table topper
and Santa plates
graced this group's area.
It was fun to see how everyone decorated their tables!

When we arrive to our meetings, we check in, hand in our Blocks of the Month if we made any. At this meeting we played Quilt-O so we picked up a card in exchange for some 5" squares.

Aren't our Blocks of the Month pretty? I love to see them laid out together.
