October Meeting
In the spirit of this fall season we saw some fall and Halloween themed pieces.
Suzie made a Bonnie Hunter pumpkin table runner.
Tara's granddaughter is going love this quilt and her very special trick or treat bag!
Members had a great time looking at this month's Block of the month.
Even though the block is the same,
they all look so different with the different fabrics used.
Kathy created a Kawandi piece.
Our speaker last month, Jen Strauser,
spoke about this method and inspired Kathy to make one.
We always see new ideas!
Catherine shared a wonderful story about this quilt, started by her great grandmother and continued and repaired by her grandmother, Catherine, and family members.
Her quilt label tells the story of her quilt and how multiple generations worked on
and remembered this quilt being made.
Nicole finished a wonderful T-Shirt Quilt....it really tells a story...
Carol shared a lighthouse quilt.
but still had scraps left over so...on the back...

An outreach quilt with a border we loved. Made from leftovers. Two sets of blocks were alternated with tan blocks. What a great design.

Our speaker, Marge Tucker spoke about improvisation in antique quilts and in quilts created today. This is a wonderful piece she created based on the Dresden plate idea but she she transformed it. She won numerous awards for this quilt.
Marge spoke about how color and using a very different block
as a center of interest can really change a quilt.
