June 2022 Meeting

Our June Meeting was filled with sharing. laughing, learning,
a speaker, BOMs and more!

Show and Tell
Our June in-person meeting was filled with our members sharing wonderful quilts!

Jenny P. said she would stop when she ran out of burgundy.
Each square is about one inch in size.  Look at all the squares and colors!

Tora surprised us with her Storm at Sea.  She combined some wonderful colors!

Jackie's colorful quilt certainly bloomed!

Elvia shared her star quilt and said there was
lots of finger pricking so she could match up the corners. So many stars!

Marilyn brought in a Grandmother's Flower garden Quilt to ask advice from members.  It was thought the fabrics are from the 1930s or 1940s.

Margaret S. finished her dinosaur quilt!  Isn't it adorable! What a fun quilt!

Sharing pieces from Betsy Habich's workshop where members learned to use a photograph as the basis for a pieced quilt
See betsyhabich.com for more information.

Ways and Means

There is always time to shop at Ways and Means for treasures and treats!

Our Speaker
Lynn Kane of puppygirl designs in upper state New York brought a trunk show and spoke to our guild about her work.  She combines  hand embroidery with differently designed borders.
She provided a same-day workshop where members learned about embroidery, flanges, and piping on quilts.  She also designs her own patterns.
For more information, see her website  puppygirldesigns.com "Stitching for the Modern Soul"

Lynn Kane demonstrates how to make piping and flange borders on quilts.

One of her first pieces involved a trellis-like border. She also hand dyed her fabrics.
