Ninigret Quilters is an organization for quilters of all abilities in the Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut area. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Westerly Senior Center, 39 State Street, Westerly, Rhode Island (Google Maps) to share our common passion of quilting. January 2022 Meeting (Zoom)

In January we held our meeting on Zoom which began with members wishing each other a very

 HAPPY 2022!

Susan Sherman our guest speaker who works with fibers and fabrics spoke about her work and shared her stories of her quilts and of her journey as a quilter.

Her work often involves animals and she has traveled to many corners of the world where she photographs animals she encounters.  She then uses her images to create her quilts.  She uses threads and tiny beads to produce exquisite details and textures.

Susan also shared her knowledge of Hawaiian culture and shared a variety of examples of Hawaiian applique quilting.  She is presenting a workshop to our guild on Zoom where members and guests will create Hawaiian applique in a two part workshop.

Jackie B. has created another medallion quilt for her lucky granddaughter.

Donna C. created a very special Harry Potter quilt.

It sure looks like she loves it!

This black and white with red sashing Outreach quilt was created by many hands,
 quilted by Merri and binding was hand stitched on during the meeting by Sheila H

Nicole C shared many of her quilts.  This group represents a year of work.

Pat G shared this Outreach quilt with a fun fabric border.

December 2021 Meeting

Our December meeting proved to be a fun gathering 
as we spent our evening shopping, sharing quilts, and celebrating the season together.

Members created an array of beautiful placemats 
that will be donated to Meals on Wheels.  
The people who receive them 
get very excited and truly enjoy this special gift.  
Thank you, Donna C. for organizing this project.

A Silent Auction to benefit The New England Quilt Museum
was held with beautiful handmade items. 
Members had fun bidding on various gifts,  
wreaths, jams and jellies, homemade cookies, 
quilted items, knitted and crocheted items and more!
We have very crafty members!

Tina tells the story of her Monoprint Arrowheads quilt.
Tina learned how to create a monoprint at a Ninigret workshop with June House.

Pat F. created a special sewing machine cover and used the rest of her Bernina fabric.

Molly O. used many slight gradations of colors to create a star quilt.

with a cabin feeling for neighbors who live in a log cabin and have dogs.

Outreach completed this kitty quilt using a variety of greens and browns.

Ellie arranged colorful houses to create this colorful quilt.

Tara started with a kit and made her own changes to create this unicorn quilt.

Margaret Stahl's quilt has a quite a variety of fabrics.
