In January we held our meeting on Zoom which began with members wishing each other a very
HAPPY 2022!
Susan Sherman our guest speaker who works with fibers and fabrics spoke about her work and shared her stories of her quilts and of her journey as a quilter.
Her work often involves animals and she has traveled to many corners of the world where she photographs animals she encounters. She then uses her images to create her quilts. She uses threads and tiny beads to produce exquisite details and textures.
Susan also shared her knowledge of Hawaiian culture and shared a variety of examples of Hawaiian applique quilting. She is presenting a workshop to our guild on Zoom where members and guests will create Hawaiian applique in a two part workshop.
