July Meeting

We swapped our third and final round of 9-patches for the Ninnie Nines swap. Let's see how many 9-patch quilts are completed for the show in October!

The program for July is our annual potluck dinner, which was delicious as always! The business meeting was followed by Show and Tell.

Nancy L made two lovely lantern mini quilts, one for the silent auction at the show and one to keep.

Cheryl K has been involved with the HGTV quilting and needlework board for many years and often attends their annual retreats. Her cityscape won Most Creative in this year's challenge!

At the retreat, 5 member groups participated in a row robin and this is Cheryl's top.

Nancy B creates unique art quilts inspired by children's books. The Little Prince, a family favorite, inspired this little quilt.

The baobab tree is another scene from The Little Prince.

Diane H showed her first quilt top ever, created for her granddaughter. Way to go Diane!

Sheila H has a quilt for her new granddaughter, too. Sheila includes the words Faith, Hope and Love on every quilt she makes. The machine embroidery was done during a trip to Florida. (If you click on the photo, it will open in a new window so you can read the center panel.)

Beverly's daughters, Ashley and Haley were excited to show their quilts and ribbons from the Vermont Quilt Festival. Both girls won a Janome 100 sewing machine!

Here is Ashley with her quilt Winter and Summer, named for the penguins and dragonflies.

Haley's quilt, Japanese Art, was made from the same pattern but has a much different look.

Beverly's beautiful quilt, With All My Heart, was also exhibited at the Vermont Quilt festival.

Tina C showed a small improvisational quilt made in a Craftsy class with Jacquie Gehring.

She also finished a mod bento quilt that was started in an online block swap in 2010. There is hope for those old UFOs!

We're all looking forward to the August meeting and special guest Anita Grossman Solomon. Hope to see you there!
